Wildlife of the Kichi Zībī

Beaver, muskrat, deer, fox, coyote are the most common aquatic and land animals that can be seen and heard from the river

There are dozens of bird species that call this stretch of river home, from Bald Eagles, Sandhill Cranes, Common Loons, Great Blue Herons, to smaller Spotted Sandpiper, Cedar Waxwings, Belted Kingfisher and Pileated Woodpeckers
